The cave is situated at an altitude of approximately 700 meters a few kilometers distance from Kandila in the Peloponnese. In 2009, members of the Hellenic Speleologic and Exploration club George Tzavelas and Komninos Boutaras, had reached the depth of 153m exploring the cave. In 2015 with the help of a team of cave divers in cooperation and partnership with SPELEO club Fondas Pitsinelis explored the cave to a depth of 186 meters.

On the 1st of May 2024 Bart Pitala furthered the exploration at this cave reaching a depth of 240 meters. Making Sintzi among the deepest caves explored underwater in the world. In fact Bart had visited Sintzi in the past and planned to come back. His efforts were supported by an international team of Polish and Greek cave divers and we look forward to diving again in the near future and the making of a documentary film providing more insight into the exploration of this cave.
