Kefalovryso Cave

Situated at an altitude of 770 meters the village of Kefalovryso is located about 36 km from Argos. Visibility is particularly poor in this cave and although the cave does not exceed 30 meters in depth, it is a difficult dive. For the most part returning to exit the visibility is close to zero. The cave has approximately a length of 400 meters. The temperature of the water is around 10 degrees Celsius the entire year.

Until 1928 Kefalovryso was called Ano Belesi. It was then named “Kefalovryso” due to its spring. Residents call the spring today simply as “Kefalari”. Kefalari is a karst-type cave located in the central square of the village. Together with the Erasinos River (Kefalari Argos) and Lerni Myli, it is one of the three springs of the Argos province.

The dive in the video took place on the 8th of February 2020. We had dived this cave in the past in early January of 2018.
