Maria Fotiadi
Maria studied Archaeology and History at the University of Ioannina, Greece. After obtaining her two Bachelor Degrees, she moved to the UK to complete a MA of Arts in 2012-2013 at the University of Birmingham. Moving back to Greece, she began her professional carrier as a field Archaeologist. Since 2017, she was an active member of the Hellenic Speleological Society team and visited several caves and of course the famous mines of Lavrio region. Maria reached out to us in May of 2019 regarding the Lavrio Mines.

Vasilis Stergiou
Our friendship with Vasilis started when the exploration of the Lavrio Mines began back in June of 2019. He has been a mine explorer and researcher for many years in the wider Lavrio area and specializes in finding and researching minerals which can be still found deep within the mines. In fact Vasilis has discovered a couple of minerals which have been verified as unique finds and given his name. His knowledge of the underground passages in the mines has been invaluable to our project and the safety of the team members.

Hercules Katsaros
Hercules works for the municipality of Lavrio and is part of the team placed in charge to create the new geo-parks which will help to revive the historical significance of the entire area. We met Hercules during the Lavrio Mine Project and remain close friends ever since. His extensive research, exploration, and knowledge of the underground pasages accumulated over the years has offered our team invaluable help. He is passionate in researching the history of the mining works of Lavrio.

Akis Palis
A passionate recreational diver and an active board of directors member of Tethys Scuba Club. He has provided valuable support to the Mine Explorations operating under difficult conditions. His support has been invaluable to us in transferring our gear safely and without a doubt we would be unable to reach those dive sites without his help. He has recently taken an interest in underwater photography.

Antonis Grafas
Antonis and his team have discovered numerous wrecks in the Greek seas since the early 2000's. Since 2017 his team have visited, documented and filmed a number of caves in Greece. We have had the privilege and joy to dive with Antonis in a number of filming projects of the Grafas Diving Team such as Polydroso, Kolethra, Kefalovryso, and Ladonas caves. He has also provided us with detailed information on many of the wrecks we have dived. His diving career is a true testament to his passion and love for scuba diving, exploration, and discovery. Antonis is a good friend of ours and a mentor.

Fondas Pitsinelis
Fondas is a Tec, Trimix, Cave instructor and a commercial diver. He dives both open circuit and CCR. He holds both the depth and penetration records in a cave environment in Greece. In 2015 an expedition at Sintzi cave along with Michalis Spirakis, whilst supported by a large team, reached a depth of 187 meters. At Kolethra cave along with Michalis Spirakis, Komninos Boutaras, and George Tzavelas the team penetrated approximately 1500 meters into the cave. We have completed our technical, trimix, and cave training and certification with Fondas over the past few years.

Apostolis Tzamalis
Apostolis is a physiotherapist by trade and a passionate scuba diver. He recently started diving over the past few years and is an active member of Tethys Scuba Club. Apostolis has provided valuable support to the Mine Explorations operating under tough conditions. His support has been invaluable to us, we would be unable to reach those dive sites situated deep within the mines without his help. He is keen on diving physiology and is constantly reading and researching this topic.

Trifonas Eglezos
A DM recreational diver and an active board of directors member of Tethys Scuba Club. He enjoys photography both above and beneath the waters surface and has recently joined in the Mine Explorations capturing some excellent shots which we will use in our presentation at TekDiveUSA in April 2021. A hardcore heavy metal fan and passionate underwater photographer.

Andreas Andrikopoulos
Andreas Andrikopoulos is a passionate technical diver who chooses to address his passion in cave exploration and historical wrecks. He started diving in 2001 at the age of 24. He calls diving, a way of living. Andreas has joined us in several deep wreck dives such as the Patris, HMS Perseus, Pilaros, Nestos and the SS Monrosa. We are close friends with Antreas and regularly exchange views and opinions regarding scuba diving. He is a member of the Top2Bottom Diving Team. Andreas first underwater filming project was Amphitrite, in 2017.

Nikolas Margaritis
Nikolas “MIZU” Margaritis holds an MSc in chemistry and works as regional clinical operations manager. He is diving since 2011 and has been involved in various training and certified in TECH and CAVE diving. He actively participated in various projects including two ghostfishing projects, Lake Vouliagmeni pond project, Vouliagmeni Lagoon 3d mapping, and several local bio-watch projects. He is interested in ecology (conservation biology, animal welfare, and environment), citizen science, photography, and videography. Nikolas' first underwater filming project was Amphitrite, in 2017.

Alexandros Lykos
A DM recreational diver and a close friend. We dived with Alex between 2015 and 2017 recreational before we took on technical diving. He loves shipwrecks and generally being in the water every weekend. Recently Alex has also completed the first course in technical diving and hopes to dive several shipwrecks in the coming years.

Vassilis Tsiairis
Vassilis operates Nautilus Dive Center in Athens, Greece. When he is not busy, during the off season he enjoys traveling and technical diving such as caves and wrecks. We have dived with Vasili in 2017 at Sintzi cave and attempted to dive Polydroso in 2018 but were unable to do so due to high outflow of water from the spring.
